The arch enemy of productivity is perfectionism: Readings on news websites and in news tabloids

"I am dismayed seeing that the maximum cash dispensed from many of our ATM machines (sic) in one transaction is N20,000 and so unsurprisingly you see long queues- as all it takes for someone is to be processing five transactions to aggregate N100, 000. Imagine the quantum of man hour cost wasted by this inefficiency...Even little things that we often ignore can create a transformation at no cost. It's about being able to sniff opportunities and act flawlessly. According to George Bernard Shaw, "people are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances that want, and if they can't find them, make them."

"...Psychologists noticed that delayers tended to have a lot in common, from relating to time in a vague and unrealistic way to indulging in that arch enemy of productivity, (called) perfectionism."

"Your best efforts can't be judged if you've waited too long to put in your best efforts."

"We have said repeatedly on this page that there is nothing like toilet infection. If there is a discharge in the genitals, it has occurred because there is infection rather than by a result of what you might have caught in the toilet."

Saw a pix of Nollywood actress, Stephanie Okereke rocking Afro. The apparently happy screen diva enthused: "Believe you can and you're halfway there." Later I found that she was alluding to Theodore Roosevelt, former US president.

Like most professional athletes, she is incredibly hard on herself and competes less with others than with her own internal set of ideals. In the past, Biles' mother has tried gently to persuade her that she is almost always the best gymnast in the room, but this is not how Biles sees it. (This is, of course, the inverse of what one tells less-sporty kids, that it is about being the best in relation to their own goals. Apparently this doesn't work with world champions.)

I love the fact that it corroborates a truth in the scriptures, "They comparing themselves with themselves are not wise."
