Wishes accomplish nothing. That is the absolute accomplishment of a wishful thinker: nothing. The world would have been a mass of emptiness if the creator and the inhabitants had been mere wishers. The truism of the popular maxim--if wishes were horses, beggars woud ride--- has further been justified. If the inventors of the aeroplane had wished a metallic bird had flown in the sky, it probably would have been thought impossible still that such a gigantic aero-bus can ply the skies. If the alleged theft of the idea of Facebook was true, could the allegers, Winklevoss twins, have nurtured the idea anywhere near the catalytic influence that the social media company has become today in the hands of Zuckerberg? A quora.com user, Andrew Piereder, expresses this submission rather succinctly when he wrote thus: "It is the execution that matters. Zuckerberg has executed the birth and growth of Facebook extremely well..." This assertion reiterates the power of execution. The world has yet to celebrate those who have or had ideas. Thoughts are utterly useless and of no significant personal and corporate benefit if they are not transformed or translated into meaningful tangibility. No business minded person wants to relate with ideas that lack clear cut means of execution. Interestingly, ideas are not the exclusive preserve of any individual. They grow wings and nest in the minds of over a thousand or more individuals, with the denominator being execution! That is the essence of ideas: execution! Our days as primary school pupils exemplifies this. A student is reluctant to or not bold to answer a question posed by a teacher, yielding the opportunity to another classmate of his. Regrettably, he bemoans why he did not answer the question. It becomes more painful when there is an handsome reward to that effort. Well, it was he that vocalised the answer that knew the answer. That is the torment that fear also brings that had buried many an idea.
A million and one ideas have also died because of fear. The negative side of the idea is what is only considered. The one with the idea is quick to bring to (the) fore, why the idea cannot materialise. The fear is made worse if confirmed by friends and relatives.
Ideas have also been jettisoned because of the inability to take risks. Every risk that brought about a success story could have brought about a negative one also. At an ATM point, I was in the long queue but those in the queue wouldn't use the ATM because the ATM just swallowed two user's card. Having made the attempt to persuade the next person in the queue to give it a trial and wouldn't yield, I stepped forward to take the risk. And guess what! I was able to withdraw. Others in the queue began to fume as I made withdrawals repeatedly. I was no where near the queue, but left those I met in the queue there. Yours sincerely, I could have had a different story to tell, but at least I tried and the outcome was awesome.
Start something; do something; put pen to paper; make that contact; pay that visit; and perhaps, more importantly, read that book. In being deliberate, better described as being diligent, lies the difference between the successful and the failure. And that can start now, just right now, not later. A number of dreams, business ideas, would-be schools of international repute, business conglomerates, etc. have been deposited in the habitual verbal morgue: I will do it later. Later? Why not now! Don't do it later, do it now!
Procrastination has been identified as the thief of time. Now that you know him, would you let him rob you!
You will have a wonderful week ahead.
