Musing aloud!

The barber promised to give me a nice hair cut before I agreed to have my hair cut, reason being that he is an apprentice. While he did, he turned my head this way and that way, in such a way as to remind me that I insisted on having a nice hair cut and I must oblige him if indeed he will give me a cut. As he turned my head in different directions, a funny thought came to my mind. Na so Buhari barber go dey turn him head fa. Just because he is the barber of the number one citizen of the country, he will order Mr President to bend his head, lift his jaw and head, change position What a man in control. In fact, he (the barber) should be called the Commander-in-Chief. If Mr President must look good, he had better obliged his barber! I wonder the manner in which Mr President's chin will be shaved, and how he would be asked to change position. In the same vein, my mind wandered to Mr President's photographer. He is in command of how the portrait of the president will be taken. Does anybody remember Styles, Athol Fugard's fictitious photographer in Sizwe Bansi is Dead (1972), and his struggles to get members of a family to take a family portrait? Well, Mr President must have been asked to use a particular chair, take a favourable position, tilt his neck side ways, bend his head a little, adjust a little, and what have you. He probably could have been asked to smile, too! 

Such as it is common to man

I went further to think of Mr President using the toilet. Like seriously, Mr President dey shit?! Make Mr President no shit ke! Don't ask me if the president's shit dey smell o! Mr President dey use the other room?! Libido is such as it is common to man, to be satisfied in the other room, expect there are call ladies elsewhere. Mr President dey mess? Mr President isn't immune from sicknesses either. Our dear President has consistently taken vacations to attend to his health.

When our leaders are thought of along these lines, it brings to fore the fact that they are also humans like us, not deprived of life's daily experiences.
